Lines are frequently used in photography to help create balance, symmetry, and to help lead the eye to the subject of the photo. Often, a photographer can get away with placing the subject in an obscure part of the photograph, but uses leading lines to direct attention to it.
Last year when I was in Nelson for a weekend, we drove past an old house sitting in a field with freshly planted produce around it. I couldn't help but notice that it would be great opportunity to use the lines with the house.
This week, the challenge is to go out and take a photo that utilises lines and draws people in to the subject.
Have fun!
